Introduction

We organised a trip to Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, with a population of about 450000. This city is the political and economic centre of Slovakia. We went to Bratislava with 12 students.

How to go and accommodations

We booked a bus from Nitra to Bratislava with the company RioJet, the good things about this company is that the website is in English, it’s really cheap (five euro for go and return ticket) and it’s impossible to miss the yellow bus.

We also booked a youth hostel named Hostel Blues, we took two rooms with eight beds. This is the most popular hostel in Bratislava, with free wifi, full equipped kitchen and lot of more reasons to book in this hostel. The price is 12.90€ for a night, also really cheap. We really recommend this hostel if you wan’t to visit Bratislava. We also get a 10% discount for drink and food in lot of restaurant/bar because we booked in this Hostel

The visit of the city

We started the visit by the Old Tawn

Hall,
it is the oldest city hall of Slovakia, with buildings from 14th century, just in the heart of the city center.

We have also visited the St. Michael’s Street and St.Michael’s Gate, a street with many shops and restaurant, with buildings from the 18th century.

We also tried a typical restaurant, if you want to go in a restaurant, I really advice you to eat a Slovensky Spiz or an Haluzky. You also should try the chocolate factory named “Mon dieu”, really a delight for chocolate lovers!

Finally, when the night was falling, we went to visit the Bratislava’s Castle, it is on a hill overlooking the city, a lot of photo to take here, a beautiful view.

The next morning, thanks to the Hostel Blues, we had a free guide tour from the city. The guy was really interesting, he spoke English very wall, it was really a pleasure, we have visited some famous street and also the St. Elizabeth’s Church, a blue church in Bratislava, it is one of the most beautiful pieces of Art Nouveau architecture in the world.

Conclusion

We really enjoyed this trip, it was really cheap but more expensive in bar, restaurant and club than Nitra, this is a small but nice city, with lot of things to do the day and the night. I really recommend you to visit this city.
