One of the most beautiful castle

This Saturday we decided to visit a city which is famous for its incredible castle. Bojnice Castle is a medieval castle in Bojnice, Slovakia. It is a Romantic castle with some original Gothic and Renaissance elements built in the 12th century. Bojnice Castle is one of the most visited castles in Slovakia, receiving hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.

Bojnice is at 2 hours by train from Nitra. Thanks to the ESN of Nitra, the train card is offered so we can travel each time for free in Slovakia. We took the train at 10H15 to arrive at 12h15 near to Bojnice. We just took a bus during 10 min to be in the final city. The train in Slovakia is slower than in France and there are many train stations during the ride. So, for the distance about 100 kms it is a quite long.

Some people didn’t anticipate to take some foods for the trip, like me. So, we buy a meal in a restaurant to take away, but because it is a touristic town, price is little bit expensive compared to Nitra.

After the lunch, we joined other people of the ESN Bratislava who scheduled also to visit the castle today. At 14h15 a guide showed us the inside castle parts and told us several explications of these. The guide explained us that this castle want seems like “Les chateaux de la Loire” in France. The visit finishes at 15H30 and after we just walked around the castle to take some pictures and see beautiful landscapes.
